Bible Text: Ezekiel 8:1-18

In today's sermon, we shall be discussing on the work of Holy Spirit as the revealer of hidden things. The bible is full of the work of the Holy Spirit, but in the sermon for today, we want to look at how the Holy Spirit of God revealed the wickedness that human beings perpetuated in secret for which they believe that no one can see the evil being perpetuated, forgotten that the Almighty God, the creator of heavens and the earth see all that the children of men are doing on the earth. The bible in Isaiah 40:22 says that the Almighty God sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants are as grasshoppers. The Almighty God by Himself specifically made mention in Isaiah 66:1 that the heaven is His throne and the earth His footstool. Meaning that He is fully aware of everything we are doing in secret according to Luke 8:17.

The text of the sermon narrated to us how the Almighty God revealed to Prophet Ezekiel the great abominations that the house of Israel is committing in the dark for which they were convinced that the LORD can not see them, thereby forgetting that the Word of God in Deuteronomy 29:29 says the secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but the ones being revealed unto us by Him is for our own knowledge so that we can take action.

The Almighty God does not want His children to be in the dark and that was the reason the Word of the God in Jeremiah 33:3 specifically told us that we have a direct access to the creator of the ends of the earth to dial Him and ask for great and mighty things which we did not know. As believers, how regularly do we pray for the assistance of the Holy Spirit? Do we just pour all our desires to God in prayers without asking for the leading of the Holy spirit? Jesus Christ was telling His disciples in John 14:26 that the "Comforter" which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send will teach us all things and even bring to our remembrance whatsoever that has been communicated to us but had been forgotten. Jesus Christ, therefore fulfill His promise after His departure by sending the Holy Spirit of God on the day of Pentecost. And since that time, Holy Spirit has been doing the work of Christ for believers.

In the bible text we read, we can see that without the assistance of the Holy Spirit, Ezekiel would not have seen the secrets with his ordinary eyes. He was able to see a hole in the wall, but could not discern that there is a door behind the wall for entrance into the chambers where the house of Israel practiced detestable things God had already warned them not to do.

The truth of today's sermon is to bring to our attention the work of the Holy Spirit among believers who sincerely desire the presence of Him at work in their life and does not rely on the flesh for direction. The bible in Acts 13:2 said that the Holy Spirit mandated the Apostles to separate Barnabas and Saul for the work He have for them. The Holy Spirit is still speaking to believers all around the world. When I said believers, I meant genuine Christian believers who believe in Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit at work in these last days.

The Almighty God is still sharing divine information among His children in these last days. All that you need to do is to tap into the anointing of God to receive divine information. It means that you must sincerely desire the anointing of God upon your life by complete submission to the will of God for your life. You need to get to the place of intimate relationship with God where He can share secrets things with you. We can see the way God describes Abraham in Genesis 18:17-19. He said "Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do". Also, we can see the story of Daniel in Daniel 2:19-23 on how a deep secret was revealed to Him in a night vision.

What then is the purpose of this sermon to us as a believer?

The answer is simple! Concentrate your prayers on the infilling of the Holy Spirit more than all other things you will be asking from God. Ephesians 5:18 encourages us to be filled with the Spirit. Acts 4:8 says Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost and was able to stand and addressed rulers and elders of Israel. When you are filled with the Holy Ghost, all other things you are requesting from God will by themselves fall in place for you because your Heavenly Father knows your needs. In the parable of Jesus Christ in Luke 11:2-13 on the teaching of how to pray to His disciples, He made mentioned of persistency in prayer in Luke 11:8 and went further in Luke 11:13 to compare the Holy Spirit as good gift to have if you persistently ask the Heavenly Father.

In conclusion, I want to tell us that we are in the last days and as Christian believers, you need the guidance of the Holy Spirit at all time to guide and direct your path. Isaiah 30:21 says, the Holy Spirit will give you guidance and direction, but you need to let your prayers be centred on the infilling of the Holy spirit all the time you pray.

Let us pray!

Our dear Heavenly Father, we pray in the name of your Son Jesus Christ to infill us with your Holy Spirit unmeasurable. We love to have a relationship with you, Abba Father! And your Word have told us that anyone that ask you for the Holy Spirit, you give to such a person. We believe that we have your Holy Spirit and ask that the Spirit continue to provide guidance unto us in all our doings in life in Jesus Name. Amen!
