In the sermon for today, we shall be taking a closer look at an advance warning for Christian believers about the coming judgement of God against unrighteousness in the world.
God in His infinite mercy does not want His children to go through such a time as this and that is the reason He had made known to us about the time and the season of His visitation against evildoers.
The sermon I am sharing to you today is a revelation received through the divine inspiration of God in my dream from 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2. And I do believe that the time of fulfillment is at hand for God to make sure that His word come to pass. I am not a prophet, but I do know that God shared this secret with me to tell you His children including myself not to sleep as others does, but to watch and be sober according to 1 Thessalonians 5:6. The bible in Deuteronomy 29:29 says the secret things belongs to God and the one that are revealed unto us, they are for our own and our children to do all the words of the law.
Jesus Christ in Matthew 24 narrated fully to His disciples the sign of His coming back. In Matthew 24:37-39, He told them that as in the days of Noah when people were at ease that all of a sudden the flood descended and take the wicked away, so shall it be when He shall come again to judge the wickedness of the people on planet earth. Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:I-4 says that he need not write to the believers because they have already been informed previously by the Lord Jesus Christ while on earth that the visitation day will be as a thief in the night. In Luke 12:39 our Lord Jesus Christ compared it to a good man of the house that does not know what hour of the night the thief would enter his house, He said that if the good man is well informed he would have been well prepared to prevent the thief from gaining entrance into his home. Apostle Paul went further to tell us that it will happen when people are well relaxed by saying we now have peace and safety, then suddenly destruction will come upon them and they will not escape it.
We human beings might have thought now that they have escaped the dreadful disease of Coronavirus that shake the entire nations of the world, but Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:3-14 said that there will be scoffers (a person who mocks or makes fun of someone or something, often of religion or moral values) in the last days insinuating where is the promise of Jesus coming since all these years when they have been shouting of His return and all things continue as they were.
Peter, therefore went further to tell us that these people are ignorant and that the heavens and the earth which are now are kept in store and is reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men. He said the Almighty God is not slack (or slow) as people count slackness, but He is a God of compassion and longsuffering who is not willing that anyone should perish, but that they all should repent of their evil ways.
The same way Jesus Christ and Apostle Paul had made mentioned that the day of the Lord shall be as a thief in the night. So, also Apostle Peter said it in 2 Peter 3:10 that it will be a day least expected and we were told of what will happen. He said the heavens shall pass away with great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth and all the works that are therein shall be burned up. This same cataclysm event was corroborated In Revelation 6:12-17 for us that the stars of heaven fell unto the earth.
What Then Is The Purpose of The Advance Warning?
1. God does not want us to be unprepared for this day. He want us to be like a faithful and wise servant who is ever ready about the coming of his master according to Matthew 24:44-46
2. The Almighty God does not want His children to share in the judgement of the wicked according to 1 Thessalonians 5:9
3. The Almighty God wants to give believers an assurance that He will come and give rewards to every man. Revelation 22:12. The bible in Galatians 6:7-9 says whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
In conclusion, as believers in Christ, we are not appointed to wrath. We are all looking for the promise of new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness according to 2 Peter 3:13 and at the same time, we looking for the fulfillment of prophesy in Isaiah 11:6-9 where in the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Our Dear Heavenly Father, we humbly come to you as your children whom you have redeemed by the precious blood of your Son Jesus Christ to assist us in our walk with you and never to be derailed from your plan for our lives. We pray that you keep us through faith we have in Jesus Christ unto Salvation and that our oil will not grow dim or quench and that we be ever ready when the trumpet shall sound in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
