Bible Text: Romans 8:30-34

In today's sermon, we shall take a look at the ways and manners our faith in Christ brings us pardon for our sins. First, we need to understand what the word "justification" means and how it relates to the work of Salvation.

Theologically, justification means "to be declared innocent or guiltless". To be justify is to be absolved (That is to be free from guilt or blame or their consequences) or to be acquitted that is to be relieve from a charge of fault or crime and be declare not guilty.

From the text of the Sermon, in Romans 8:33-34, the bible says it is God that justify and condemn. In John 3:16-18, the bible says God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son (Jesus) that whosoever believed in Him should not Perish, but have everlasting life and those that believe is not condemned, but those who did not believe is condemned already.

The bible in Romans 3:23-24 tells us that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

For a Christian, justification is the act of God not only forgiving the believer's sin but imputing to him the righteousness of Christ. The Christian being declared righteous, is freed from the guilt of sin. No wonder in 2 Corinthians 5:17-19, that when Paul wrote the believers in Corinth, he told them that their belief in Christ has made them a new creature and old things are passed away and all things become new. He further explain to them that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not inputting their sins unto them.

Justification comes by faith in Christ, based on His finished work on Calvary on our behalf. Our own works are disqualified as a means of Salvation. It is by grace that we are saved through faith and not of ourselves. This is a gift of God to humanity and whosoever embraces the faith in Jesus Christ will not perish but have eternal life.

Apostle Paul in one of his epistle made mention that it is not by works, nor even by obeying the commandments of God that a person is justify, but by grace. God is the one that calls the sinner righteous.

In human court of law, only the innocent person is justified, but in the tribunal of God, we are all sinners (Romans 3:23) and are only declared just by God's merciful verdict. Romans 4:25 said Jesus Christ was delivered for our offenses and was raised again for our justification. In this way, the sinner is acquitted from the law, sin, and death and is reconciled with God and has peace and life in Christ through the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:1.

In conclusion, a believer can now boldly tell the accuser of the brethren and all his demonic agents that there is therefore now no condemnation to him or her because he or she is in Christ Jesus and walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made him or her free from the law of sin and death in the name of Jesus (Rom. 8:1-2)
