Bible Text: John 5: 1-9; Gen 41: 14,40-44

There are two types of transformations. The good and the bad transformation. But we will be looking at the good transformation from God in today's Sermon.

In the two bible texts we read, we can see the story of two different people whose lives were transformed when they least expect it to happen. Our God is a compassionate Father that care for all His children. When your timing come for Him to attend to your prayers or requests, He overlook or suspend all protocols to ensure that needs of yours are met. And I pray for you that the Almighty God of heaven and earth will suspend every protocol to attend to you this season in Jesus Name. In John 5:10, despite it was a sabbath day, which is a day of rest that God had laid down for the Israelites not to perform any work, God by Himself suspend all protocols and heal the man at the pool of Bethesda for thirty-eight years of infirmity. This man according to John 5:6 had been in that condition for such a long time until the compassionate God located him and healed him. In life, it takes the compassion of God to give you the necessary assistance in an area you are struggling with. The man was among many other Sickler’s waiting for a divine miracle of healing at a certain season. The bible does not tell us if it is a yearly season such as winter, summer or fall, but a certain season in the agenda of God.

The lesson to learn from the passage is that the Almighty God does whatever pleases Him according to Psalms 115:3, Psalms 135:6.

He is a Sovereign God who made the heaven and the earth by His great power and nothing is too hard for him to do. He is God that shows His loving kindness and repay the iniquity of the father into the bosom of their children after them. He is mighty and His eyes are open to all the ways of men and give everyone according to his ways, and according to your doings as stated in Jeremiah 32:17-19.

He can change the season of your visitation according to Daniel 2:21. The sick man at the pool is still waiting for the season of the angel's visitation and here comes God Himself in the flesh to do the work by Himself rather than sending an angel to trouble the water.

Another lesson to learn from this passage is that God decides whom He will have compassion upon according to Romans 9:15-16. This story makes us to understand in John 5:2-3 that a great multitude of Sickler’s’ were there waiting, but God decided to see him. Does it mean that Jesus did not see the other people lying there? No! He wants to prove a point to the Jews who were following religion but forget to do the will of the Father as stated in Matthew 25:31-46 (Read it when you get home).

Don't forget, the Sermon topic is on Transformation, when you least expect.

The Second bible text we are looking at, centre on the Story of Joseph. We are aware of the background story surrounding Joseph being a slave and later found himself in prison until the appointed time of God when his dream that he had dreamt at age seventeen in Genesis 37:2,5,49 begin to come to fulfillment after thirteen years of the dream at age thirty (Genesis 41:46) The story of Joseph is full of so many lessons to learn from it. But in our today's sermon, our focus is on his transformation, when he least expects it. That is from the prison cloth into a royal robe.

In this story, all hope of the fulfillment of his dream is completely forgotten. Instead, he went from being a destiny child that the father loves into the pit by his own brothers and then to be sold into slavery, then into Potiphar's house and finally into the prison.

If we observe closely the story, one would like to know what is going on inside Joseph's mind? He would be saying to himself that his dream of greatness is not going to actualise again. But God in His Sovereignty knows what He is doing and the reason He allowed Joseph to go through such a painful situation.

Just at the moment when he least expected, you can imagine how he make a request to the chief Butler after he interpreted the butler's dream for him in Genesis 40:14-15 and was completely forgotten by the same Butter until at the end of two full years in Genesis 41:1 before Joseph could be remembered by the Butler in Genesis 41:9-13. And I pray for you that whoever or whatsoever that God has ordained for you to get to your destiny shall encounter God this season and shall have no rest in their spirit until they have located you and help you achieve that greatness in Jesus Name. Amen!

The lesson to learn from this point is that people, family, friends, relatives, colleagues, your boss in the office e.t.c may forget about your gifts or the good things that you have done, but God will not forget you.

The bible in Proverbs 18:16 says the gift of a man make a room for him and bring him before great people. And I pray for you that your gift will make a way for you in Jesus Name. Amen!

As children of God, you should continue doing the right and the good thing you usually does, knowing fully well that one day, it will be rewarded.

Other lesson to learn from this is that you should be expectant. As a child of God, He will not forget you completely. He would definitely show up in that your situations. You should have hope in God of your salvation that this thing/situation can not be like this forever. The book of Proverbs 14:7-9 says that there is hope for a tree, even if he is cut down and the root still stand firm into the ground, that at the scent of water, it will bud and bring forth boughs like a plant.

In conclusion, are you having a challenging situation in your life and you think all hope is lost and wanted to give up? I say "Don't give up".

Are you looking for a good job with a good pay or business contracts and you have applied for it several times but you are not called for the interview or the contracts is given to other people that does not serve God or the job given to unbelievers? I say unto you, "Don't give up".

Are you undergoing a terrible situation such as sickness or ailment or pain or disease in your body and you have gone to see the doctor several times or use various medications for it or even prayed and fasted for it but still the sickness refuses to go? I say unto you "Don't give up".

Let us pray!

I pray for someone reading this sermon right now that the God of Transformation will transform all of your situations for good in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
